BlueID onTouch®: Subway speed with top-level safety and convenience

BlueID presents BlueID OnTouch®, the world's fastest “touch-to-open” access control with smartphone activation for places with high pedestrian traffic that require high-speed subway hubs with a high level of security

BlueID onTouch® brings the speed of subway entrances and exits to corporate buildings, universities and other facilities with the highest level of security and traceability. For existing customers of BlueID's established in-app-triggered ACCESS authorization management platform, OnTouch requires no hardware change in order to be activated other than a firmware upgrade

BlueID, specialist in mobile access control software, today announces the introduction of BlueID OnTouch®, a functionality that supports secure, smartphone-controlled access to places with high pedestrian traffic at speeds of up to one user every two seconds.

By significantly increasing entry and exit speeds, onTouch reduces traffic spikes, improves the safety and comfort of visitors and employees, and makes secure, traceable smartphone-controlled access commercially usable for a much larger number of applications than was previously possible.

During operation, onTouch allows you to open doors and pass through turnstiles simply by touching an Android or iOS smartphone on a door or gate reader. The Smartlock is activated by either NFC or Bluetooth wireless technology and can open in about a second.

With BlueID's standard access solution, authorized users can operate Smartlocks by opening the BlueID smartphone app and pressing the unlock icon. This operating mode also allows users to access other Smartlock features, such as receiving lock status information, and is suitable for situations where high security is critical.

However, since Smartlocks are also used in company buildings and universities, where quick access and ease of use are priorities, OnTouch enables fast Smartlock operation without having to open the app. When the app is running in the background on the smartphone, all the user has to do is hold the device up to the input reader to open the input.

BlueID OnTouch® is available as a simple update for existing BlueID apps and as an over-the-air (OTA) firmware upgrade for Smartlocks that are already in use. The OnTouch functionality is made available to users via the BlueID ACCESS® authorization management platform, which provides the administrator of an event venue's access system with complete control.
