BlueID GmbH joins OSS Association

BlueID GmbH today announced its official membership of the OSS Association (Open Security Standards Association e.V.), an association of companies with the general goal of developing, communicating and marketing standardized protocols, components and encryptions in the area of access control and the associated security-relevant hardware and software.

BlueID aims to simplify secure physical access control by offering a cloud-based access solution that enables users to use their smartphones to open any type of intelligent offline objects, regardless of the manufacturer.

The OSS Association's offline standards meet the challenge that there are a variety of different offline electronic locks on the market. These locks are not connected to an access control system via a cable, but function autonomously and are powered by a battery. The access rights are read from the card and the lock reacts accordingly. These rights are written to the card by the system, but each manufacturer has its own approach. Thanks to OSS standard offline standards, locks from different brands can read the same access rights from the card and interpret them in the same way.

“We are basically bringing high-security military solutions to the commercial market, to our own smartphones and with a growing selection of locks from various providers that are secured by BlueID. BlueID can be integrated with all types of BLE-enabled hardware such as locks, cars, bikes, scooters, lockers, etc.”

BlueID GmbH is headquartered in Munich, Germany. The company is continuously expanding its ecosystem with additional application/service providers and locks/hardware manufacturers, making it the first and only universal, independent platform solution for mobile access on the market.
